LDR ANNOUNCES NEW STRUCTURE
TO THE
NEW BALANCE GRAND PRIX PURSE!

The USATF-NJ Long Distance Running Executive Committee has released the changes to the New Balance Grand Prix prize money purse structure.

For 2006 there will be an added incentive for the state’s elite men and women runners to participate in the year-long series – a cool one thousand dollars to first place!   Second place will earn six hundred dollars and third place will receive three hundred dollars.

The top three will be removed from their age division at the end of the competitive season for purposes of determining age group prize money winners.   Grand prix age divisions begin with the 14 to 34 age division for women and 16 to 34 for men, in accordance with national rules regarding long distance running competitions.

Age divisions then follow with 35 to 39, 40 to 44 and so forth through all participating age divisions.  Age division prize money is $200.00 for first; $ 125.00 for second, and $100.00 for third.  More than ten thousand dollars is up for grabs!

More information regarding rules and qualifications can be found on the LDR web page.
